Picture is a little hazy as we cruise through the San Juans on our way to Friday Harbor. Mt Baker is one the bigger mountain peaks in the Cascades (some of the others being St. Helens, Rainier, Adams, Glacier Peak, Stuart and Hood). All of these mountains are high enough to stay covered in snow and ice all year long. Most of them are also volanic in nature. Baker stands at 3284 meters (10,775 feet) and is a great place to ski. I believe snow boarding (damn them!) started on Mt. Baker. Baker is close to Bellingham, WA and is basically on the border to British Columbia.
