The view from the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center. Looking north you see a lot
of the financial district (more of it is off to the right in this picture). The Space Need is visible to the north
at the base of Queen Anne. The 56-story buliding that has a small square on top is the Washington Mutual Tower.
My office is in the dark brown building that you can see part of in front of the Washington Mutual Tower.
My office has 34-floors, which by itself makes it a decently tall building, but Seattle has a lot of skyscrapers.
Of course New Yorks has a lot more, but still Seattle has a pretty impressive number of skyscrapers. In
the background are the Olympic Mountains and the Olympic Peninsula. You can see Elliott Bay to the left, which
is part of the Puget Sound which heads north in this picture and off towards the awesome San Juan Islands and Vancouver
Island. In the summer you'd likely see several large cruise ships tethered. Seattle has become a major cruise
ship starting point over the last few years.
