Steigen Church is practically a family graveyard. It is actually a beautiful old church. The church was built right around year 1300. In 1600 the roof blew off (twice!) so it became a convertible church for a while. In 1869 the church was enlarged to look pretty much like it does today. In 1963 several graves under the floor of the church were looked at as an archiological dig. Some of the Kjelstrup graves that I saw dated back to the late 1700's
