A nice backdrop for the Opel (on Engeloya Bridge). The turbo diesel Astra wagon was roomy and got about 53 MPG, or less than 1/2 a liter per 10 kilometers. An interesting contrats to my Denali which gets on a good day 16 MPG. Easy car to drive with a good 6-speed transmission. But she was sloooow. Even with the turbo (which kicked in about as subtle as a lime green tux) you had to pay attention to passing slow moving Dutch tourists pulling campers with VW Golf's. Still, a nice a car, and testimonial to how far removed modern diesels are from their counterparts from the 70's and before. Little noise, less smell, no smoke and it didn't sound like gravel had gotten into the combustion chambers.
